Kindle’s Text to Speech Under Fire

ROY BLOUNT Jr., president of the Authors Guild, defends his organizations right to kill Kindle’s free text to speech on the grounds that authors are not getting paid ancillary rights, in an editorial in the NY Times.

Comcast Writes Down Clearwire Investment

Comcast, the nation’s largest cable TV provider, said Wednesday its fourth-quarter earnings fell 32 percent, hampered by a $600 million write-down of its investment in Clearwire, notes the Seattle PI.

Cisco Beamforms to WiMAX Phones in Russia

Cisco announced this week that AsiaBell launched its broadband Mobile WiMAX service in central Kazakhstan, based on Cisco’s Broadband Wireless gear including Cisco BWX 8300 beamforming access points and Cisco 7604 Routers.

Voice Search for Android
